Truck Toll Rates in Türkiye
Bridge tolls depend on the vehicle class, and heavy vehicles fall into the top classes. The amounts here come from the General Directorate of Highways' own tariffs.

Bridge toll rates
Each bridge tariff carries its own effective date — they are not all updated at the same time. That is why the date column is here.

Which class is your vehicle?
The class follows the number of axles, not the tonnage or the load. Tractor-and-trailer combinations usually land in class 4 or 5, several times what a car pays.

Where do tolls sit in trip cost?
In Istanbul a heavy vehicle does not get a free choice of bridge. KGM's own tariff note states that only vehicles permitted under the UKOME decision may cross the 15 July Martyrs and Fatih Sultan Mehmet bridges; a vehicle without that permission pays a penalty charge on top of the toll. The Yavuz Sultan Selim bridge, by contrast, is open to every vehicle class. So for a heavy goods vehicle the real comparison is between Yavuz Sultan Selim and Osmangazi — the lower-looking FSM tariff is not available to most of them in the first place.
One more detail feeds straight into the arithmetic: under KGM's tariff notes, the 15 July Martyrs, Fatih Sultan Mehmet and Yavuz Sultan Selim bridges have been charged in both directions since 1 January 2022. If the outbound and return legs are planned as one job, the bridge line is twice the amount shown in the table; counting a single direction understates the cost of every trip that comes back.
Nor do the tariffs all change together. The bridges on this page carry different effective dates, which is exactly what the date column is for. With no single “increase day”, working from memory produces errors; the place to look when quoting is the current tariff itself.
After fuel, tolls are the most visible variable cost, and unlike fuel they change directly with the route you choose. Between the same two points, the gap between the motorway and the alternative can run into thousands of lira for one heavy-vehicle crossing.
The real risk is not the wrong tariff but the tariff never reaching the trip record. If the toll charge is deducted in bulk from the monthly statement, which trip carried which cost is invisible; that trip looks profitable and the gap surfaces in the fleet account at month-end.
The right method is to write the toll charge on each trip's own row. The same figure is used when quoting: once the route is known, the toll is not an estimate but a known amount.

Freight cost is not the price quoted to the shipper; it is the sum of the ten cost items a carrier covers to make a trip happen.

Frequently asked questions
- How much is the bridge toll for a truck in Türkiye?
- Heavy goods vehicles fall into class 4 or 5 depending on their axle count. The table on this page lists the current amount per class for each bridge; the figures are taken from the tariff documents published by the General Directorate of Highways, and every row carries its own effective date.
- How is the vehicle class decided?
- By axle count, and for two-axle vehicles also by the axle spacing. Two-axle vehicles with a spacing under 3.20 m are class 1, those at 3.20 m or above are class 2, three-axle vehicles are class 3, four- and five-axle vehicles are class 4, and six or more axles is class 5. Motorcycles are class 6. Load and tonnage do not change the class.
- When do the tariffs change?
- There is no fixed calendar and the bridges are not all updated together. Each bridge on this page shows its own effective date; the amounts come from KGM's official tariff documents and the last check date is shown at the top of the page.
- Do the amounts include VAT?
- Yes. The amounts published in KGM's tariff documents are VAT-inclusive, and they are shown the same way here.
- How should tolls be recorded in trip cost?
- On each trip's own row, not in bulk at month-end. Because the toll depends on the route, it is knowable per trip; kept as its own cost line, trip profit comes out right and the current figure is in your hands when you quote.
